Top 5 in Each Sport

Here are my top five athletes in each of the four main sports (NHL,MLB,NFL,NBA). By athlete, I do not mean pure athleticism. I am factoring in leadership ability, desire to win, how clutch the player is, etc. Also this list is factoring in the time span of which each player has spent playing on a top tier level. Obviously, right now Claude Giroux is playing great hockey, but I need to see more than one season to put him in my top 5.
Respond with your lists or your opinions.

  1. Just glad to see no tebow, all the hype was quite aggravating. Where's Iggy at for the sixers, having a stellar year and sixers could be a spoiler for a mediocre eastern conference when a rematch is inevitable for conference finals.

  2. Iguodala has never won when it counts, so I did not include him. I put him in a category with Rudy Gay, Josh Smith, Kevin Martin, Deron Williams, and Danny Granger. They are all great players, but have to prove themselves in the playoffs. Whether its because they are lacking a better team around them , I do not know. We will see if the 76ers or Pacers can make some noise in the playoffs this year.

    1. I agree with your point, but you can't really judge anyone on performance this year. Schedule is unreal, the quality of play is way down except on a handful of teams. The east is alreay settled in my opinion. Bulls/Heat and then everyone else is not in the convo, they are clearly the two best teams and I don't see anyone coming close against either team. In the west OKC, Portland, and Denver have been the only legitimate strong teams out west. I see he east winning it this year, most likely the heat, even though I hate to say it. Bulls just don't have a legitimate 3rd scoring option, rip will be fine for first few rounds, but then against heat, we need another guy.

  3. Yea, the schedule has been rough. The Magic, Celtics, and Knicks have really fallen off. The Pacers, Sixers, and Hawks look like the second tier of teams now. The Bulls struggled last year against the Pacers and it could be a vulnerable match up for the Bulls if they face them in the playoffs. However, I believe the Depth will help them win the Eastern Conference. I like the Heat too but I think the Bulls are a little bit better. Especially in a shortened season like this. Im taking Oklahoma City out of the West. In the Finals I got OKC winning in 6. The Bulls will finally be worn down after a hard fought series against the heat, and the Thunder will be NBA champs.

Trades can change all of this. Where will Dwight Howard go? That is huge. Bulls? Lakers? OKC? Clippers?

The third scoring option for the Bulls needs to be Boozer. For the amount of money we are paying him, he needs to contribute more. I understand he is not playing terrible but his value to our team is not as much as we are paying him.

What do you think of the rest of the rankings Scans?
